While Erica and I happened to be neighbors, we met several years earlier and always remained cordial towards one another. We don't know anything about each other, however, this book let me know that our worlds were not far apart. The Jesus take the wheel piece was hilarious. And yes, her girls are beautiful. The younger one I affectionately named cutie pie since I didn't know her name. It was a memoir into Erica's personal life which took a lot of courage to share. I commend her and look forward to her next book.Product details

The Macaroni Mama Memoir of a Single Parent eBook Erica L Porter Reviews
I received this book last night and I have finished it. This was a great read. Erica gave us some insight on what made her the Great Woman, Mom, Sister and Friend that she is today. We all have a story and we all could write a book about the hand that has been dealt to us and EP did it. Kudos to her!!!! I was on the train reading and lol'd a few times and then had to look around to see if anyone was watching me....LOL. Then there was a part in the book that had me at my desk in tears. From the highs to the lows, it was a great read and I would reccomend this book to ALL....because everyone can relate on one level if not all. I honestly didn't want the book to end, but fortunately for me, I can witness firsthand the continuation of the Macaroni Mama's Adventures......!
What a page turner, head turner, fold the page when someone interrupts you and you don't wanna miss the last word you was reading, relating to some of the mishaps, single parenthood, lol'ing very loud to your personal excerpts (high yellow), to eyes filling up with water, to wishing someone was reading it with you so you can slap "high five" with them, to your ending segments of "survival tips", it breeds the way in which you overcame the boundaries, submissions, Hippocrates, failing influences and little guidance to becoming a woman who stopped at nothing, and shows a CLEAR example of what optimistic thinking and perservance will get you...Congrats on the braveness of opening up a chapter of your life where every woman/man can relate, weather SINGLE, SINGLE PARENT, or SOLE PARENT, there are issues and idiocencryes that we face each and every day and you have withstand and weathered them all...alone....wish you much success as you continue your journey......
When I saw the word memoir I thought I would be getting a much deeper look into the author’s life. There was a glimpse but nothing too deep. In fact, it felt more like I was reading a self help book than a memoir. It was a bit preachy for my taste.
Being a single mother and Eastern Star myself as Ms. Porter is, I felt we had a lot in common. While we all make mistakes in life, I wasn't looking to be told how to survive being a single mother. I was looking to read about her life experiences. I think the information given was common information and may help a young mother.
I would recommend this memoir to the newly single mother as the information may be golden to her. I look to see a fiction novel from this author.

I was happy to read something real!! Mothers go through alot on a daily basis.. Erica gave us a glimpse into her struggles as a single mom; and what struggles they were!!! I tip my hat to her! She is proof that hard work and dedication pay off!!
This is an amazing book. I learned a lot from this book. Sometimes when we are in situations we think our situation is unique; not realizing that they are others in the same situation. I finished this book in a few hours. Interesting attention grabber! I cried, smiled and laughed.
this book is great. Coming from someone i see on the regular, and would have never thought this was the walk of life for you. You are truely blessed and talented. Very resourceful, good read, makes you miss your stop on the train type of book.
Erica L. porter delivers a short but satisfying trip through her journey navigating the responsibilities of single parenthood, to become the best mother to her children. As she Learns and evolves that into the woman she is today. "The Macaroni Momma" keeps you informed with Survival tips, and anecdotes throughout. Very enjoyable
